The wrong pursuit of happiness
We say the life goal is to be happy. Fair enough. Happy about what? This is the problem. Happiness must be earned in some way to have value; only morality can give it value. This means the just, the good, and the beautiful. Then, we go back to morality. A happy life belongs to a soul that grows in its morality. How can you grow in morality if possessions are your only anchor? Possessions, though they can be aesthetically beautiful, can be neither good nor just. You need beauty from simplicity, justice from the righteousness of your actions, and goodness from the low negative impact of your life. These three must be reunited to achieve happiness. Most of us are just chasing material possessions, trying to fill the void with futile things. One day or another, a few of us will wake up and build the wheel again, for it is broken
