Hey you! The motherfucker with the new F150, listen to this:
For most capitalist countries, even those who would not admit it, money means all. It’s a 24/7 war where everybody is struggling to walk up on the scale of perceived riches… of perceived power. We translated our instinct for hunting and adventure into the game of money accumulation. Most rich people are just playing for the thrill of the game and their self-aggrandizing, egotistic, narcissistic, overinflated part of their personality. It’s a war, and everybody is either a failure (like the broken living in their cars or on the street), either a pawn (like most people living paycheck to paycheck), either little capos (the small business owners, vulgar little cockroaches profiteering off their hard-working labor force), to the big predators (the CEOs), and the absolute kings and popes, the Elons and other bald monsters, spitting their sermons and encyclicals to the vulgate.
This system is an insane game, churning humans that were cut off from their branches, all the same, same dreams of going to Italy, drinking the vino while listening to an overstale, overused Bocelli, eating the overrated Italian pizza… all the same dreams to see the same fucking tourist attractions together with other tens of thousands of willing turkeys walking in close ranks like in a war of who will have the best selfie or the “I was alone” angle together with another 10,000 vacation athletes.
Everything is made to respond to the self-satisfying material need of the masses who were not presented with any alternative: “Love the dollar, this is the only God’s commandment,” said Elon.
After millennia of loving each other, we decided that loving a piece of paper is worthier than loving a human being. Maybe we are right after all… at least that is what most of us think, even if we would not admit it.
And what can be more than money? The jumping in unison because 11 idiots succeeded in putting a ball in a cage, millions of idiots with empty lives and empty heads and empty souls celebrating “their team,” the summum of “follow the sheep” propaganda. Before, you were happy that your army cut off some monster heads; now you are happy because 11 millionaires succeeded in putting a ball in a cage… and we call this progress…
I forgot: the worship of the singing god or goddess, priests without a cause or any preach, that serve as mass wire for the “society” need of catharsis. We passed from the catharsis in the cathedral to the catharsis in the stadium.
Capitalism began first with the spiritual impoverishment of people in order to adopt a vulgar worship of perceived value. We think that riches were always the goal of any society, at least, that is what they instill into the brains of people. So how do you explain to them the thousand other reasons people had to live before we reduced it all to money? Before, almost every dude was food-sufficient with his backyard. He had a home, okay, leaking from the ceiling, no hardwood on the floor, and probably no shoes, but he had a home better than sleeping in a tent on the sidewalk of San Francisco or L.A. Before, few people really needed money day to day. Most had self-made or locally made clothes. What was money good for? To trade. They used in-kind trade, bypassing the money system. For 80% of the population, money was used by the drunkards, the lords, and the warriors. So no, capitalism could not be invented before we industrialized all aspects of human life and monetized everything. Capitalism sells the illusion that you can fill the spiritual void with either things or the illusion of riches in the form of bank accounts. After all, how many stomachs does a man have? How many heads to put on a pillow? How many cars does he need to travel? The difference between a hyper-rich person and a regular dude is an illusory scale. Bill Gates does not sleep better than me; he does not, on average, eat better than me. Should I envy him because he has absolutely ridiculous amounts of zeros after a one in his balance sheet? All this is an illusion, and people are struggling for nothing, running for nothing, going nowhere. Most idiots in traffic are not hurrying because they have a medical emergency, not even because they have to catch the World Cup final; they hurry because it’s a way of saying, ‘Did you see me?’ Small, idiotic egos with small, idiotic lives, driving cars beyond their means just to show off and feel relevant in this risible money hierarchy. When will people wake up and see they are living alone in aseptic big houses, that they have empty lives and nobody to share their riches with, or even to share a word with? Blessed are the ones who are not rich enough and have to stay crowded together. Love is there. The alternative is the so many stars and starlets who died of overdose because they ‘succeeded’ at being utterly isolated in an ivory tower. What a success, building your own cage voluntarily, with walls of fear and selfishness. Next time you see a beggar, not only give him a little money but take two minutes to talk to him. He may be richer than you, you motherfucker with the new F150 worth 80k.
After note:
But some will say, “OK, but besides talking to a beggar, what should I do?”
Well…you will not talk to the beggar…don’t you?
Go motherfucker, press the gas, go faster and faster to your nonsensical destination, your kingdom for a sad and lone god.
A god in tears.
